All of the design, coding et al is created entirely in-house and contain no 3rd party products with the exception of stock images. As such, YOUDS offers a full package of web design, graphic design, front-end development, back-end development, on-site search engine optimisation, direct mailing and documentation design. New Web site: photopanorama.co.uk
PhotoPanorama is a Virtual Tour Company and Panoramic Photographer based in Clitheroe, Lancashire. Photo Panoramas professionally tailored service will deliver a specially made Interactive Virtual Tour to suit all your media needs, available in both web friendly and hi definition formats.
The Photo Panorama web site has been in operation for a number of years and over time the content has grown and grown. As such, the main purpose of the specification was to implement a content management system which would make life easier for PhotoPanorama, without changing the site design or theme as well as implementing some neat features that make the site more appealing to users.
Give me a call
The "Give me a call" feature allows the user to easily submit a form without having to refresh the page - and it even automatically slides down after a given number of seconds to attract the users attention! This has been done very candidly, to ensure that it isn't at all obtrusive. Travel cost expenses The web site offers the ability to calculate "Travel Cost Expenses" for Photo Panorama to visit their premises. User types in their email address and Post Code and the web site goes and fetches the travel directions from Google Maps in order to determine the driving time and distance between Photo Panorama and the customer. A price is then delivered to the email provided.
Link management system
A Link Management System has been implemented in the form of a Company Portfolio. Links to external sites are offered with a small thumbnail image shown beside the title and description. By simply typing in the URL Photo Panorama wish to add, the web site goes and gathers the internal description and associated keywords then takes a screen shot of the site and resizes the image into various sizes of thumbnails. All images are downloaded once the page has loaded so that slower connections need not wait to see the links.
Content management system
The entire structure of the site is controlled through the administration system with 2 template pages and a Site Map System. The two templates are used for the Virtual Tour and Still Photography pages. Both templates are designed to contain up to 9 items on each and each item has their own popup window. The technology behind this is very complex and extremely powerful - but most importantly, unbelievably flexible. This version of the system can even stitch together an image from the QuickTime virtual tours (.mov), which can then be cropped and used as a thumbnail for the Virtual Tour, all from inside the browser!

This E-Commerce based web site was custom coded on behalf of CGS and uses fully integrated payment processing technology from Protx. CGS obtained a Merchant Bank Account from Streamline, which enabled them to take credit and debit card payments online without the need to pass the user onto companies like Paypal et cetera.
Their web site conforms to the W3C's internet standards and incorporates innovative features inside those standards while maintaining an easy to use structure.
The front of the web site uses 2 navigation systems. One is JavaScript menu, which allows users to flick through the large range of categories without having to reload the page. Where JavaScript is not available, the web site displays a HTML menu instead in the same style and theme. The option to choose between the two is available from the user account areas.
Every user that places an order on the site has an account created automatically. Users have the option to register before purchasing a product too. Once they either sign up or buy a product, they are automatically logged in unless they specify that they don't want to stay logged in. They will remain logged in until they click the log out link or trigger a security mechanism.
Registering to the web site can save users a lot of time if they intend to use it more than once. For example, whenever they are logged in they will never have to type the same thing twice, all the contact forms and feedback forms will be filled in with the information they provided on signup unless they change it in "My Account".
The web site contains many features and services that are available to users and administrators. These include a Newsletter, Image Cropping feature, User Discount Levels, RSS Feed and a self updating Froogle store.

PTT Installations was formed in 1997 by Phil Regan to carry out construction and cable installation in the utilities industry. Specification was to redesign the web site with the intention of updating the images. This involved removing the Flash content from the web site and converting the content into a browser compatible format.
A professional photographer was used to take the pictures & he was more than happy to go out on site to get the right images for the job.

New Web site: peaksurveys.co.uk
Peak Surveys Limited has been established since January 2003, providing topographical surveys, elevations, floor plans and site engineering services to architectural and construction companies.
Peak Surveys wanted to maintain the theme created for their Email Stationary on the company's web page. This was achieved by extracting the main focal points of the email stationary and integrating them into a unique design specifically for Peak Surveys.
The contact form found at the bottom left hand corner of the web site uses the Peak Surveys email stationary to send one email to the Peak Surveys staff and another email directly to the user.

Grant awarded
The government funded agency offer Business Advisor services. In order to qualify, you must submit a successful business plan and attend courses at the local College on setting up and running a business, handling the day to day accounts and so on. The grant was for £1000 on receipt of invoices relating to Marketing and IT. The majority was spent on advertising for Yell.com, in the Yellow Pages and corporate gifts.
